WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER ALL-ON-4 IMPLANT SURGERY?

You may also be prescribed an antibiotic to drive away any possible infections, and it is important to take it for the entire course. Over-the-counter pain medication can be used as needed.

WHAT ARE POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS OF ALL-ON-4 IMPLANTS?

A little bleeding is to be expected following the insertion of dental implants for the first 24 hours or so. However, if the bleeding is excessive or does not stop, call us right away or go to an ER if warranted. People on blood thinners may need special attention regarding bleeding.

Some swelling is also normal and can be lessened with an ice pack 24 hours after the surgery.

Right after the surgery you might experience some nausea due to the accidental swallowing of blood during surgery, or as a minor side effect of medication. Of course, call us right away if it seems serious.

HOW DO YOU TAKE CARE OF ALL-ON-4 DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Since All-on-4 dental implants work and act just like your natural teeth, all you need to do (for the most part) is treat them with the same high-quality care as you would natural teeth. This includes regular flossing and brushing with a soft-bristled brush. A water pic can help with flossing, as well as specialty “crown and bridge” floss.
